Clinical/Critical Care/Pediatrics
Most of our patients are referred by their existing doctors for the treatment
of diseases and ailments, such as diabetes, heart disease, renal failure, cancer, AIDS, prenatal complications,
gastrointestinal disease and eating disorders. Our Clinical Nutritionists are experts in Pediatrics,
adult and geriatric Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT). We will work closely with your physician to insure that all
medical prescriptions are being followed.
All of our
Clinical Nutritionists are Registered Dietitians and have a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition. This encompasses
a three year degree in nutritional biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, and metabolism. In addition to the Masters program,
they all have completed their dietetic internship at New York University affiliated hospitals for one additional year. They
have completed the American Dietetic Association board exam and are all Registered Dietitians with the ADA.
Our nutritionists have years of experience in New York City hospitals. We have worked
in Critical Care in both Surgical/Medical as well as Pediatric Intensive Care Units for over seven years. We do outpatient
consultations for patients discharged from their hospital on both enteral and parenteral (intravenous) formulations while
working with your physician on an ongoing basis to adhere to the changing prescriptions of this critical population.
It is important that all patients being
referred by their existing doctor have a copy of their most recent blood/lab work, urinalysis, bone density, glucose
monitoring records along with any other medical diagnostic history. Please have your physician fax/send this
information prior to your office visit to insure that it is received.
